10/8 There is a new game i am going to be playing for awhile. My one friend got me hooked on it. It is called " Knight Online". You can download and play it for free on "

10/7 Yet another oldie but goodie. This time we take a look at the updates page from December 19, just before my return. The site had been going through major changes and Drifter was in and out of activity. Notice his comments on people leaving without saying anything, and his pledges to do more - they still ring today today. You can also see all the active people from the time: HoboMaster, Cole, Spartan~, Pockets, even urmom200 was there. Notice who wasn't: me. :) -Ghost

9/27- I'm sorry but guess who is grounded again...... Apparently punching a kid in the face giving him a big black and blue mark on the side of his face with a bleeding ear is worth grounding... Even though i had 3 days OSS (out of school suspension) & had to do hard manual labor for 5 days wasn't enough i had to be grounded from PS2 , PSP , and worse of all PC. I might be on today idk. 9/24 Just taking this time to announce that next week will be the first official tourney week! Continuing our 2 week celebration of the first anniversary of our servers, week 2 is meant to celebrate the new types of servers we make going into the second year, which would obviously be tourneys. If you've never tried a tourney server before, this would be a good time. Since we have the dedicated server up, all normally scheduled closed servers next week will be tourney servers. The actual contests have yet to be determined, but will be announced either in the server or right before the event takes place. Contact me or Mobile Suit if you have any questions. -Ghost

9/19 As you probably noticed, the anniversary celebration has begun! To start with, we have a new site style, Celebration, to mark the occasion. Just avoid typing in white. :)

We'll try this out and see how you like it. Because we're celebrating, if you want to try new styles, just say so and we'll see what else we can use to honor our first year! Sometime around now last year, the first Cops and Robbers Halo servers were created, and the first members met for the very first time. To celebrate this milestone, we will be having as many servers as possible next week. Don't forget about the dedicated server as a good fallback option. I will also be digging relics from the past and we will try reliving some of the glory days! Haev a great time and enjoy it! This past year could not have happened without you! -Ghost

9/11 As official Cops and Robbers historian, I figured that I would run one of my anniversary ideas by you guys. I have semi-detailed information about the past year's activity, enough to make a nice, organized page, or a sizeable article, probably written here in the updates. If you think I should give it its own section, or at least make it part of the story block, let me know. Of course, there is some personal information included, such as things that happened with certain members on the site. Names may come up, so if you want to be left out of the "A Look Back at the Past Year" thing, just let me know, and I will use false names or something. If it's something secret already, don't worry, I won't bring it up. I will only remind us of things that happened in the past, but things that were public and just not touched in a long time.

The way I have recorded history may be opinionated, but I try to be as objective as possible. In addition, I have divided our history by era, but some of you may not agree with how I ranked things, or even how I organized the history of promotions and staff appointments. I simply organized the mods and admins according to a system that would be as fair and undeniably true as possible. No system is perfect, though, so if you have an issue or concern with what I show you, let me know. All of this is meant to help commemorate our site's history, so there is no need to take it personally. For the most part it is exactly what happened, and nothing is being made up, so don't worry about accuracy.

On a separate note, everyone have a thoughtful and respectful 9/11. My heart goes out to all affected, and I hope that everyone can unite behind something that affected everyone in some way. Doesn't seem right updating on this day without mentioning that. -Ghost

9/7- Sorry for my absence between school, parties, work, & other things it has been hard to keep track of stuff. I will be on every now and then. Sometimes I also have to babysit my nephews and nieces >_>. So you may or may not hear from me for awhile. I am also typing up a story, so send me a message if you want in or have some ideas concerning your character. My xfire is down and I need to reinstall it, so I'll smell ya's later. -Cole

9/4 I know I haven't resumed duty the way I planned, but a lot of things have come up this past week. We've been working on a new server schedule that takes into account the new server operators. I recently updated the squad roster to indicate more AWOL members. I realize the need to have more recruitment servers, so that's something I'd like to set up real soon. As we enter the school season, most of us will not be as readily available as we once were, but we are still going to work on the site and try running servers.

On a separate and very happy note, in case you guys didn't notice, our one year anniversary is approaching! This community started sometime at the end of September last year, and the site was officially created on Oct. 9, 2007. To celebrate this great and joyous day, I have a lot of things planned. I hope everyone gets involved, and maybe we can inject new life into this community. We're slipping into a slowdown period, but thankfully it's nothing like the one we had in February-April. I will post the new server schedule as soon as possible, but don't expect a server everyday. We had a good run this summer, and got our site not only above the 100 member mark but the 200 member mark as well. We're nearly at 250! In honor of our anniversary, I will be providing more historical information so that we may all glory in the nostalgia. Look forward to the future! -Ghost

8/23 Pockets and I will be on leave next week from cops and robbers for a personal holiday. It's his last week of summer, and we have some things planned, so don't expect to see too much of us next week. Vapor should be hosting servers Monday and Tuesday, and hopefully we will subs taking over Wednesday-Friday. Weekends, as always, will be a mixed bag, although I will be online a bit tomorrow. Seffy may take care of next Saturday and Sunday. I should return to active duty Monday the week after this coming one. You know, Labor Day. Most of you should have it off. :)

Of course, Labor Day is also a day that may contain last minute summer plans, so we'll see if anything happens. If not, Tuesday will be the beginning of my active duty. Please send any questions or concerns to my inbox, as I will be checking messages periodically, and will try to respond as soon as I can. In a pinch I may be able to go online and resolve any conflicts, but I'm not sure yet. Our mods and remaining admins are more than capable of helping everyone out. I have full faith and confidence in them, and know they will keep things going. If you need a message sent to everyone, you can send it to other people this week instead of me. 8/22 Today's server became our second official tourney server, and it was amazing! Results will be posted ASAP in our new tourney pages, but congratulations to winners Mobile Suit (3 victories), Scott, and Axe Murderer in from the 5 tourneys held in Pockets' server and the one in mine. Hope to see more of our members participate in the future, when we flesh this out a little more. 8/22 Huge news for everyone! The Cops and Robbers Tournament Challenge has begun! Along with our normal servers, we will now be hosting tournaments to decide who can master any of the various types of halo combat competitions we create. Yesterday's server included 4 tournies, and led some of us in the staff to begin drafting the tourney system. 8/9 - I got a good idea, If we can somehow make a CnR training server. We could focus un individual problems. Some people might need sniper training ( me being one of them >_>) some might need driving , pistols, nades , arresting , anything else that you think of.It could be a helpful thing to use. This ways we could improve our skills and make our servers more challenging , & fun. Put you name in Blue if you AGREE under my message or Red if you DO NOT agree. & Also put if you CAN make the server for us

8/5 I should be on active duty again. I hosted a super long server yesterday, with okay turnout. Just remember to check the home page for current servers, or look in the game lobby in halo. Try out our new deicated server if you can. -Ghost

7/26 I notice that several of our members are going on vacations of sorts this week. With the head mod and two admins among them, you may be concerned that there won't be servers, but you needn't worry about servers this week. Vapor and urmom200 should still be available, and a few servers should appear this week. I may even be able to make one, if time permits. I will check my messages, so I will be aware of what is going on with the community next week.

This may be a good time to also assure everyone that we all have lives, and no one should ever feel bad if they are unable to play or join a server. Come when the time is good for you, and if you get tired, you can take a break. We only wish that you would let us know whenever you take a long absensce, so we don't think that something bad happened to you, or you've ditched us. -Ghost

He is feeling better, and should get over his sickness soon, so hopefully he will enjoy it tomrrow. Just a quick note, keep today's test password in the back of your minds in case we use it again (which is unlikely). 7/20 Just letting everyone know that I have made major changes to the Squad page and Profile page. Since so many of you did not wish to make a profile page, or never bothered to see it was one of the first things we wanted you to (basically ignoring all my updates from early June), that page is no longer required, but optional. Well, if you ever wish to make one, the one already made for you may have simply been deleted, so I would be happy to restore it for you, as long as you fill it out.

Anyone curious to see squad ranks should check out the squad page, which has been updated accordingly. If you happen to see your name listed as AWOL, contact me immediately and explain your situation, because that means we think you are one of those people that ditched us right after joining. If you are listed as MIA, it means you never made an account on this site, or used a different name but did not tell us when you joined. I was banned so I had to make a new account but anyway... people don't seem to want me around and a lot of people have been talking about me behind my back as I hear. I guess the ban is kind of good cause you guys get to have a lot more fun now so since I can't make an update I'm just telling you guys now. ^_^ .
Even if I were unbanned I wouldn't come back. It's already too late. A lot of people hate me and at this point I kind of hate them. I'll still keep in touch with a few people but it's really over for me. It was good for a while but now I'm leaving.

This is completely free, its the actual thing by bungie. if you have good connection , and leave your PC on most of the time even when ur not there...this is perfect 4 u! All you do is follow instructions ( it's in the readme ) and set an rcon password so that most of us can do shifts on it. but YOU CANNOT PLAY ON YOUR OWN FREE DEDICATED SERVER!! it will tremendously lag and kick most ppl off due to the lag. if you have any other questions message me - «HM»Cole

7/2 Yesterday I checked out another CR site in my travels to look at our potential friends. It was hosted by someone that seems to remember me from the past, Stealth, so I ended my server early to check it out. Today there were three other ones open. I couldn't go to all of them, but I checked out Red_Seth's because he told people in my server to go there. Yeah, two days in a row with people recruiting in my server...doesn't make me happy, but I took it in stride. It's better to make friends than enemies. -Ghost

7/1 It is official! We are now allies with Reeper0278's community! Three of us admins discussed his group with him, and almost all of the rules are exactly the same. I would like to encourage those who wish to have extra time playing cops and robbers to visit his servers, which are up from 4:00 Eastern until he closes them. That's right, 3 hours before my usual server time! They are titled COPS & ROBBERS, so you can tell them apart. At times we may even try using this title for our servers, just to show we are all in this together.

The rule differences are: robbers can break out of jail whenever they want, but they will be shot on sight; cops may not enter red base at any time; they play without shields and only pistols. In addition, a robber may always surrender, even afetr killing many cops (similar to our rule). However, the cops reserve the right to be hostile toward that robber if that robber surrenders in their sight after killing the cops - if the robber surrenders elsewhere, out of the cops' sight, they will take him in. Again, these are the differences in their rules, not our rules. Our games will continue to be played as they always have. The news is that we now encourage you to visit both his servers and ours, as we are official allies. This si the beginning of our reaching out to the other cops and robbers communities. -Ghost

6-26 (4:24 PM) Sorry but I wasn't on for a couple more days because I had to send my computer back to get it fixed again. My xfire will not be up for awhile, andmy halo time will be limited. I need to reinstall xfire & halo. 6/24 Another one of my servers suffered from computer failure. Until this is resolved, there will msot liekly be no servers from me. Check your messages for more information. I hope we can keep them up, but they may be at different times or from different people. Remember, our servers are titled COPSANDROBBERSOBEYRULES. There are other cops and robbers servers with different rules, and even another site out there. If you joined due to my recruitment servers, this is the place to be, andf thsoe are the servers to go to, not the other ones, especially not the one with the imposter ghost. Just be wary. we are no longer alone, and unfortuantely, the others are not always friendly, and so far have not been kind. I hope that I can be back on active duty soon. -Ghost

6/19 I sent a message to everyone on the site regarding my recruitment servers. Sorry there was no server today, but I want you to know there was going to be one (if that makes you feel better). I promise that servers will resume next week for sure. I will be away this weekend at a friend's house, so don't be alarmed if I don't get back to you with any questions you have. Try to look around and see the site. There's lots of stuff to do, and we always have room for more additions. 6/18 We've had some good recruitment servers lately. We are proud to have over 10 new members to the site in the past three days. As this has progressed, I have been refining the rules, so again, look to the rules page for more changes in wording. These servers are usually up around 5:00 Pacific time, so come then if you wish. They are open servers, so new people will be attending. again, I remind all older users to be tolerant. Rules can be found here: Updated Rules

Here are the additions to the rules page -do not worry, they are not new rules, but a reworded version of rules we have always had:

To better explain surrender and prisoner rules, I have broken them down into four categories:
1.Do not kill when you surrender (fake surrender).
2.Do not kill someone that has surrendered to you (surrender killing).
3.Do not kill your captors when you are a prisoner (fake surrender).
4. Do not kill the prisoner you are guarding without permission from your leader (execution).

There are two times when you can escape from jail:
1.When your guard leaves or there are no guards - in this case, you can make a run for it, but if the captors discover you while you are running, you have to come back quietly without a fight.
2.When someone on your team comes to break you out - in this case, once the fighting starts, you may aid your rescuer in the battle, and even kill your captors. However, if your rescuer dies in battle to break you out, and you are still there, you must stay there and cease fighting, as that person was your way out.-Ghost

6/16 Again, please consult the reposted rules/explanations, especially if you just joined the site. They should answer most of your questions. We had a recruitment server last night. Expect more of these in the future. All are welcome to attend, but if you already know how CR works, we expect that you will be tolerant of the new people, and try to help them learn. That gives you major brownie points in my book. Until Drifter returns with a revised server schedule, I'll do my best to offer them as often as possible. There should be at least 3 per week if the plan works out. Be watchful. -Ghost

6/10 Just reposted some important info I really think our members should know. It's gray because it's old stuff, and I want to be clear that it is still important.

I figured I should add some clarification for the new members we've been receiving lately. When you join, make sure to choose a side and let one of the mods/admins know, so I can add you to the roster in the appropriate place. When you join this site, you have a user profile - that is your SITE profile, your wetpaint ID card of sorts. In our cops/robbers roster, we provide you with a CHARACTER PROFILE. This is something completely different from the user profile you get when joining the site, and something that I personally consider more important. You can write stories, favorite weapons, moves, etc. - anything about your character. You can put personal info there as well, but you can also put personal info on the user profile you get when you first join. It's up to you, but please, fill out the character profile on the profiles page. For months I have been giving directions regarding which page to look at and where you can see certain things - make sure you know what I'm talking about. Take a look at the navigation bar and browse the menu. The pages are not invisible - they are still in plain sight, and you only have to look for them. Isn't that the point of surfing the web - to go from page to page and see what's there?

In addition, I have created another designated area for advertising - the only other place for advertising beside your own profiles - in the discussion forum. Since we really can't stop this, I have made it official. So now that you have the means, use them. I do not want to see advertising anywhere else. Advertising Thread - the only official place to go for this beside your profile.

Please refer to my 6/4 update as well, since it is still one of the current updates, and also needs to be reiterated. In addition, it has come to my attention that the surrender rules are still not fully understood. Well, here they are, so there can be no mistake. All rules are on the rules page - any questions you have may be answered there, but if you have others, you may consult one of the active admins: me, Mr. Pockets, Drifter, Axe Murderer:

Now I'd like to explain something. Many new members don't understand the concept of this gametype. This is not slayer. We are not competing for kills. When you see a robber, your goal is to capture him/her ALIVE. That can't happen if you go in guns blazing. Unfortunately, when the cops are well behaved, the robbers tend to take advantage of the situation and fake surrender, kill all cops, never surrender, etc. Cops are encouraged to defend themselves, and robbers are encouraged to get captured. The game grows when the prison break concept comes into play. Killings in this game are best done strategically. Keep in mind that cops can surrender as well, so robbers must also keep in mind that if a cop surrenders, you are obligated to respect the surrender.

We've also had issues with executions. Executions should only occur after a mock trial or questioning period, or at the direction of the attending leader of that side. You may fire on attackers attempting a breakout if you must, but the goal is always to capture robbers. One of the little known win conditions of this game is that the team that captures all members of the other team wins. So far, it hasn't happened, but we've gotten close. Executions, like real life, must always serve a purpose. If not, you're as bad as the crooks. Obviously, the rules are not as hard on the robbers in this respect, but they are encouraged to keep to the same rules, since maintaining a fun atmosphere is the main goal, and we want our players happy. -Ghost

6/2 Attention all members of Cops and Robbers. Look forward to regular servers in the coming weeks. I may be able to make the first of a long series of servers tomorrow. All actual server times will be on the calendar. For future reference, if anyone makes a server, please be sure to add it to the calendar so it is on record.

On a separate note, I recently had to ban powerlight13 for editing my link (and linking the page to a site that should not be linked to). Please, do not touch the site links on the few public pages we have left. We've had to up security so much after the previous attempts at sabotage. It goes without saying that anyone who attempts such a thing will be banned. We leave pages open so our members can help contribute, and I'd hate for them to have to request edits just because some idiots abused the privelege. Stay tuned, as you'll be hearing more from me and the servers to come. I'm going to need everyone's help to get this site back on track. A good place to start would be the Rules page (a link can be found below in my previous update). If you're looking for servers, first check the Calendar page, but when that fails always look at the internet games in your multiplayer lobby. Sometimes we get lazy or something comes up and the calendar does not tell you there's a server even when there is one. Expect to see plenty of servers in the near future, when summer arrives. -Ghost

I would like to add that while advertising in itself is not that big of a deal, the fact that most advertisers only join for that purpose is a little disheartening. 4/17 I am terribly disappointed to see this happen. Robman was one of the original members of this site, but I must say, his exit was totally out of line. We have never allowed such language, and I think his belittling us was out of line. Just look at his grammatical errors for proof of his maturity. First of all, this is why we have the updates page: to let the community know what is going on - there is no excuse for him not knowing what is going on. He could have sent the mods or even other registered users a message asking for info, or making his xfire more public, even starting a conversation himself. I know that I would have gladly spoken to him if he initiated the conversation, since I don't always go on xfire. I just want anyone out there with a similar situation to let us know immediately. You don't have to freak out like this in desperation when there are plenty of ways of contacting others. 4/11 For those of you who wish to wet your cops and robbers appetite, we do have servers up periodically. Our dedicated member Reed is currently our chief server provider, and has the dates of the servers on the new server calendar (just look at the navigation bar - it's at the bottom). When things start moving again in the summer, there will be servers just about every day, but for now, I just want you to know that they are still around. You just have to ask around, or do a little searching. Have fun, and if anyone else is able to make servers, let us know and you can start putting them out there. 4/6 Ok. So, we all know things have been slow lately. My thoughts are, as long as we can hold out until summer, the community will be ok. As Ghost and I have 3+ months off, we can probably have a server up every night. So...I guess our new goal is to keep this thing alive until summer. 4/4- Please do not be alarmed. We had someone who registered and deleted some of our pages. He/She has been taken care of so no worries. This in my opinion will give us the opportunity to start over. From now on, we won't use the color code. I believe it is meaningless and it would be better with just a single font color. So please do not fret, everything is fine. - Axe

While I'm sure part of his motivation for the removal of the color code was because he thought we lost it forever, I do agree that we seem to have a problem following it. Don't be concerned with it. Type in plain white, and use colors only when necessary. We'll try that out. -Ghost

3/27 Sgt. Lucky said it very well, and I'd like to agree with him - this constant drive to push members to be constantly active is not necessary. We've tried that out, and it hasn't worked well. We cannot know what is going on in everyone's lives, so we need to wait for their return. If we really care about them and what they can contribute, we should give them time to do what they need to do. Lucky's right. There will be tons of time in the summer for servers and such. We have ways of catering to those who want them now, as well, so everyone should be satisfied right now. I like to think of this site as our refuge, our personal HQ for all of our CR needs. It should be open and welcoming, and sometimes it will be relatively empty. That happens, we just have to accept it. If we worry ourselves over such a silly thing, we may become discouraged and the whole system won't work out.

In light of my new awareness and opinion, I realize that banning inactive members was a silly and dangerous thing to do. I should not have left those banned people hanging for so long. I only hope that they will return and forgive us for locking them out for two months. Even if it gets me in trouble, I have to follow my heart and do what is best for this site and this community. I'm extending amnesty to those who have banned unfairly. Their inactivity and attitude toward the site will speak for itself when they return, and hopefully we can get to know them, too. Let's work together to reach out to newer or shyer members out there, and make this a better community. -Ghost

I'm sure some of you have heard of Halo Custom Edition (Halo CE). It's a great form of Halo with custom made maps and weapons that really take the Halo experience to the next level. I personally thought we could start some servers on Halo CE and this idea could also maybe bring some life back to this baron waste land. 2/26 The updates page is for site updates. This is the place to announce changes you've made, or things you want to inform us about or try out. This is not the place to argue about what people said. Personal beefs and arguments are for private messages. I appreciate everyone who cares about the site and is trying to help with the leader issue, but I assure you that what Pockets said was true - we have this under control, and are not trying to replace Drifter. Drifter is the site leader and will continue to be the site leader unless he says otherwise.

On a separate note, we could use help around here. We need users to contribute to the site, give us fresh ideas and volunteers for our new server system, which will take effect in March. We will have the server schedule on the calendar, and anyone who can host a server with a minimum of 8 people is encouraged to volunteer. We need people to make servers when Pockets and I are unable to. Most of the time, these servers will be locked, but occassionally we will host open servers so we can recruit new members. If you are already a memebr of the site, you are encouraged to be helpful in these servers. We will not tolerate noob bashing or discrimination. Those servers are there so people can learn how to play CR and join the site. Hand out invites only to those who cooperate, have an interest, or are good at the game. If there are troublemakers or people who don't want to join, don't let them know about the site. If recruitment servers are too much work, you don't have to join them. We could have two servers open at once, but we'd need lots of volunteers. Please sign your name below this update to volunteer, and if you really can't, please don't give us false hope. -Ghost

2/1 Did you guys forget about dating your entries? I have no clue how old any of this is. It would be really great if you dated your entries so we can know how relevant they are. You guys seem to get the color code, which is good. Keep it up. My busy days are slowing, so I may be able to put up servers soon. If I do, I expect impecable behavior. Pockets and I will close any server that has unacceptable fighting. kool idea Host, o and u mite wanna put up our "family picture" at the top of the page. to celebrate it, and if we host a server that day, i say we go to BG and take a picture there, name the server COPSABDROBBERSANERVIRSERY (yes, i kno, i suk at spelling) since we hav a icefields pic, we should have a BG or infintiy OR dangercanyon, and take pics at one of the maps, since we play them most and they hav some speacle memories there.
